Asia Co., Ltd. changed its name to become “JTEKT Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd.”, and some affiliated companies of JTEKT also subsequently changed their names to reflect the change in product brand from “TOYODA” to “JTEKT”.
As of 1 July 2022, Koyo Thermo Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. became merged with our business, JTEKT Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., under the concept “JTEKT No. 1 & Only One” in line with the vision of the Japanese parent company. In addition to selling the grinders that we already have, we can now also sell and deliver machines and ovens for hardening workpieces for customers. And in July this year, we’ve acquired all the businesses of KOYO THERMO SYSTEMS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. <KTST> and KOYO THERMO SYSTEMS CS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. to undertake sales, consignment manufacturing, and after-sales service of industrial heat treatment equipment to work on creating innovative products by strengthening and integrating product appeal through the creation of further technological synergies.”

Let us briefly touch on JTEKT THERMO SYSTEMS CORPORATION (former KOYO THERMO SYSTEMS CO., LTD.) <JTS>, the parent-company of former KTST and KTSC. Established in 1958 as the Lindbergh Division of the former Koyo Seiko (current JTEKT), the company spun off as Koyo Lindberg Heavy Duty in 1967 after completing the development of the first domestically produced device for carburizing and quenching bearings manufactured by the company. Currently, in addition to metal heat treatment, the company also handles diffusion furnaces for semiconductor wafers as well as heat treatment equipment for various electronic parts, which are used by many customers in ASEAN and around the world.

Carbon neutralization is one of the countermeasures against greenhouse gases that are the cause of climate change such as weather disasters and food crises that frequently recurring in recent years. Our base in Thailand was established in 2002, and has delivered more than 2,000 machines related to machine tools and more than 1,450 heat treatment equipment in ASEAN.
As mentioned earlier, JTEKT is strengthening its after-sales service, and for the newly added heat treatment equipment, we are focusing on overhauls as we do for machine tools, developing initiatives to save energy. In particular, in the field of metal heat treatment, we have replaced our proprietary SUPER MOLDER THERM (SMT) heat insulating material and efficiently control the temperature of the quenching oil used for cooling during quenching, and in addition to such, the development of appropriate control of the amount of EN gas, which is indispensable for carburizing is progressing preparing to make proposition that will satisfy not only the existing customers but also the customers who will install new equipment.
