The current year holds significant importance for Sumipol, as it marks the 35th anniversary of the organization’s establishment. The company has been operating long period of time, accumulating a wealth of experiences as a distributor for machinery, tools, and equipment for industrial processes, as well as smart manufacturing processes, which consist of automatic systems connected to information on development of production and cost reduction. Sumipol is confident in their professionalism within this field with the support from their highly experienced and constantly developing team. In terms of products sales, only the top products from Japan are selected as they are capable of meeting the demands in all aspects. It can be confidently said that Sumipol is the total industrial service provider as it is fully equipped to meet all expectations.
During the past 2-3 years, the industrial businesses experienced several major challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic until the present. Those problems are now slowly improving, which gives rise to opportunities for the organizations to develop in order to establish a higher efficiency by improving the internal personnel to acquire a deeper understanding and stronger knowledge on the distributed products. Sumipol has formulated a medium-term strategic plan for 3 years (2022 – 2024) using the slogan “Agile Technology”, which provides the meaning of having the agility and enthusiasm to adapt to Tech Company for a consistent and coordinated work. This would increase the satisfaction and maximize the benefits among customers, along with driving the development of customer service in the 4.0 industry.
As Sumipol is a distributor for machinery and industrial tools, it is the responsibility to deliver care and support to customers in correct usage of products and provide technical knowledge and understanding by giving training in various courses, which Sumipol has been continuously adhering to. Over a long period of experience, Sumipol has noticed that the training course provides maximum benefits in all aspects, which resulted in the establishment of “Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Technology – SIMTEC”.
Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Technology, or SIMTEC, serves as the expansion of dimensions of training to cover the theoretical and practical areas related to machineries and equipment. Other courses can also be expanded to establish the modernization that supports industries in the future. Sumipol has decided to become the core of the establishment of this institute along with the public and private sectors, totaling up to 14 organizations, which consists of government agencies from 7 ministries and 7 other private agencies.
Along with requesting for support from the manufacturers of top-of-the-line machineries and equipment from 20 organizations for installation in Learning Factory of SIMTEC, Sumipol established the institute in the Eastern Economic Corridor, Rayong, or EEC, which has been operational since the end of 2019.
When the COVID-19 pandemic first emerged, it became necessary for us to hold the event in a hybrid format. Despite that, until now, there have been at least 10,000 participants from hundreds of companies, coming for training and educational purposes. It is anticipated the operations can be expanded even further beyond 2023. SIMTEC, as a modern Technical Learning Academy, has taken the role of a critical training provider and now gained widespread recognition and high acceptance by the public.
SIMTEC engages in collaborations with external institutions, with a particular emphasis on those with higher education levels, including the Faculty of Engineering at Ramkhamhang University. This is one of the primary contributions of the establishment of good relationship between the Faculty of Engineering at Ramkhamhang University and SIMTEC.
As the chairman of SIMTEC, I had the opportunity to discuss and exchange perspectives to collaborate with the Faculty of Engineering at Ramkhamhang in various activities. Through these interactions, I gained familiarity within the Faculty of Engineering, making the faculty professor come to recognize our dedication in improving the personnel development, which plays an essential role in the society and the country. It is believed that these are the factors that contributed to me receiving an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering Program, Industrial Engineering from the Ramkhamhang University Council, received on February 23, 2023.
“My family and I are delighted and proud to receive such a valuable honor. I would like to dedicate myself to bring the personnel development to the next level by using SIMTEC as one of the primary bases in training and developing personnel for a brighter future. I am prepared to maximize the expansion of my collaborations with the industrial and educational sectors, with a focus on establishing personnel who can support the continuous growth of the industry in the country, without prioritizing profits.” Mr. Chirapan ended with a smile to build confidence in Sumipol.
