MEGA Tech was honored to interview Terrence Lim, Managing Director of AEC, presently based in Singapore, regarding the new role in the administration of HEXAGON among the AEC area of this year.
Challenging roles and responsibilities in managing the AEC region
My primary role in the AEC is to lead and mentor country managers in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. We collectively enact strategies that foster continued success for Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division and the customers we serve. An essential element of our shared vision is partnering with local manufacturers in various sectors to demonstrate the value of our robust automation and AI solutions. Our team is adept at solving challenges and working with customers closely. Specific applications, such as the production of delicate electronics components, mean working directly with manufacturers to understand their processes’ strengths and challenges and demonstrate how we can help our customers be more productive. As such, our growth goals in 2021 include engaging with local manufacturing ecosystems, developing and executing go-to-market strategies that demonstrate the present and future value of our solutions, increasing the territory’s revenues, and enhancing already industry-leading customer satisfaction levels.
Empowering customers to thrive amidst the COVID-19 crisis
Providing customers with high-quality service is a priority for us, as we understand solutions and hardware are only profitable for the customers when it’s working optimally. As such, commitment to keeping production up and running is central to providing reliable service and critical to winning and maintaining trust. In light of the pandemic, it’s vitally important to deliver products and services that help manufacturers adjust or pivot operations to remain productive with fewer employees on site. Value-added solutions that support lights-out production — such as automated machinery for loading and unloading parts — and the ability to monitor machinery off-site have helped customers remain productive despite hurdles caused by covid-19. A proactive step we’ve taken is upgrading our customers’ machinery to help them recover from the pandemic as productively as possible. Additionally, we’ve provided advanced customer training to the businesses we serve to help increase employees’ skillsets.
The 3-year-expansion plan to manage the AEC
Hexagon is already a leader in the metrology space in AEC. I envision that three years from now, customers in the AEC will identify Hexagon further as a leading, reliable, and visionary provider of integrated devices and software solutions that accelerate productivity. Our full suite of solutions places quality and accuracy at the heart of each manufacturing process. We are continuously developing autonomous, connected ecosystems for increasingly intelligent, more efficient manufacturing.
We offer several sophisticated products, technologies, and solutions. For example, our CAE software predicts materials and parts real-world behaviour; our robust CAM systems drive the most complex multi-axis machinery, and our legendary specialized metrology equipment all work seamlessly. We are increasingly offering intelligent technologies that customers can use to make process improvements. These empower any small or big manufacturing facility to solve their unique challenges using contextual data and wireless connectivity.
