OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL adopted the state-of-the-art technology of direct diode laser (DDL), which we, Yamazaki Mazak, have developed for the first time in the world. Comparing DDL with conventional CO2 and fiber laser, DDL has its advantage of higher heat absorption rate on a variety of materials thanks to the shorter wave-length.

Therefore, not only can DDL cut highly reflective materials such as aluminum, copper and brass, but also is good at high-speed cutting of thin to medium thickness steel, stainless steel and aluminum with smoother surface finish than that of fiber laser. On top of that, another unique feature of DDL is higher energy conversion rate than other systems. Whereas energy conversion rate of CO2 laser is 10% and that of fiber laser is 30 to 40%, DDL has 40 to 50% conversion rate, which enables cutting with much lower energy consumption. With our exclusively advanced technologies of multi-control torch and intelligent functions (automatic beam diameter control, automatic focus point detection, automatic nozzle changer etc.), shortening the cycle time, quality improvement and reduction of maintenance and running cost can be realized.
Furthermore, we adopted the latest touch-screen type CNC, MAZATROL PreviewG, for this model. Needless to say, operability and visibility are enhanced, and DDL’s high-speed cutting ability is fully realized by the strengthened laser control as well as acceleration/deceleration control systems. Customers may have choices of introducing the machine as stand-alone, or with automation system and IoT technologies depending on the level of their requirements.
