HAIMER launched Power Clamp Sprint i4.0 the newest series of i4.0 shrinking machines for the first time at METALEX 2023. The ergonomic shrink station is premium quality industry design with integrated cooling for all kind of cutting tools (solid carbide and HSS) and shrink fit collets in record time. MEGA Tech had a great opportunity to interview Mr. Andreas Haimer, Managing Director and President of Haimer group. He spoke about the HAIMER products that were featured at METALEX 2023.
Haimer showcases latest technology at METALEX 2023 for the first time
Mr. Andreas Haimer opened the interview and talked about the latest technology on display at the show “METALEX 2023 emphasizes heavily on digitalization of tool room management, where it not only consists of organization of tool room with shrinking, balancing and presetting along with the hardware, but also the emphasis of the digital workflow. We are showcasing new machines, for instance, tool dynamic preset, a multitasking machine comprising a combination of balancing and presetting, along with the latest software where we can balance & set tools for milling & turning applications. In addition, our highlight also focuses on the shrinking machine containing the newest software solution, where the connection between the tool room manager and all machines combined together is established, creating a digital workflow. Lastly, we would also like to mention the digital twin technology we are currently showcasing. We are the only company that has the ability to provide a digital twin of the cutting tools with a full simulation, from scanning mode to connectivity to the CAD CAM system.”

The highlight of the product focuses on the easily accessible new software
“The highlight of the product focuses on the easily accessible new software, which can be utilized by any individual, regardless of the expertise. This new feature contributes to a fully digital picture consisting of automatic functions, such as the ability to create MACRO, an automated process involving measurement of specific parts where the procedures are memorized by the machine once recorded. Essentially, when a part is revisited, its unique identification number is scanned, allowing the machine to execute the predefined steps. This process is not only valuable to especially unskilled workers, but also significantly reduces time consumed. Overall, this approach identifies the steps, minimizes mistakes, and increases productivity. Additionally, it also enhances speed, strengthens multitasking, and provides easier control in the measurement process, as the machine has the ability to detect mistakes and indicates it to the operator. This implements the 4-eye principle despite lone working, which elevates safety and security and prevents mistakes.” Mr. Andreas Haimer talks about the highlighted products this time.

Business opportunities to grow in manufacturing in Thailand
“I also believe that this machine has a high potential in the Thai market. For instance, a large number of customers are still utilizing outdated technology, which presents certain limitations in terms of speed and productivity. As the competition increases, Thai manufacturers are required to increase the efficiency of the machining and reduce consumable cost. Therefore, with our modern and novel shrinking technology, customers can be provided with a solution that increases productivity and profitability and decreases time consumed in setting up and machining process. In conclusion, this machine can play a highly essential role globally and especially within the Thai market, as we have a highly experienced technical team available to provide support locally.”

“As our machine has a high potential in the market, we have plans to expand this model in the following year of METALEX, showcasing the entire feature, from tool management to maximum live connectivity. In addition, his product also supports the IIOT, as we are currently in the industry 4.0 phase. We offer digital processes and enable customers to make an investment in the solutions provided, as the shrinking and balancing machine establish connectivity in the tool management software. The data is then sent to the CAD CAM system with the presetter confirming the information prior to transmitting it to the machine system for control. It is important to note that our approach extends beyond a mere readiness claim; we already offer practical solutions, where our tool room manager not only signifies a physical but also a digital solution, with integration among all machines. This represents the direction we are committed to offering our Thai customers.” Mr. Andreas Haimer concludes the interview with a smile to build confidence in the Haimer Group company.
