In 1972, Seibu Electric achieved a groundbreaking milestone with the development of the world’s first CNC Wire EDM. This innovation marked the beginning of a new era in precision machining, enabling manufacturers to achieve unprecedented levels of accuracy and complexity in their components. Today, with over 10,000 Wire EDM machines delivered worldwide, Seibu Electric continues to set the benchmark for quality and performance in the industry.
Seibu is an integrated mechatronics manufacturer with focus on distribution equipment, industrial machines, and precision machines in its pursuit of “Ultra-precision and Mechatromation” In 2027, it will be our 100th anniversary of the company founding. Seibu is divided into three divisions. Distribution equipment division, Industrial machine division and precision machine division.
- Distribution equipment division`s main products are automated warehousing system, FMS system, automatic case picking systems, conveyor and handling and handling systems and Robotics material handling.
- Industrial machine division`s main products are valve actuators, gate actuators and valve/gate control systems. Our products provide valve actuators and gate actuators that are key to enabling lifelines such as water, electricity, gas, oil, and other energy sources.
3. Precision machine division main products are Ultra-precision and high precision wire EDMs, Ultra-precision wire EDMs (oil spec.), High-precision, compact NC lathes and Free-form internal grinding machines. We develops wire EDMs with proven pitch machining accuracy, NC lathes for precision parts machining, and cutting machines that enable free-form machining.

- Longevity of cutting accuracy
Knowing that highly precision accuracy of Seibu Wire EDM, but question is can this accuracy last for long time? The answer is YES. The secret behind this accuracy comes from our traditional hand scrapping called “KISAGE”. It is a way of making a very precise flat surface that cannot be achieve with machinery. It is a extremely skillful work that requires not only high level of manual skill, but also good judgment. The removal process is by hand. By able to achieve the high level of flatness, it helps the machine to avoid the stress of surface scratch. Usually after using a few years of machine, the gap between the two guide started to have space between and it will affect to the accuracy, but with the KISAGE technique, it can last the same accuracy from factory shipped to more than 10 years.
- User Friendly Application
Equipped with state-of-the-art CNC controls, Seibu’s Wire EDM machines offer advanced programming and operational capabilities. The intuitive user interface allows for easy setup and operation, making it possible to execute complex machining processes with efficiency and accuracy. The integration of advanced wire tension control systems further enhances cutting stability, minimizing wire breakage and optimizing performance. One example is function called “CC-Support” known as cutting condition support. This allows operator to change the cutting condition by tapping the icon of the workpiece and allow to modify the dimension of the workpiece. This is a usual complicated task to modify the parameter of cutting condition but Seibu`s CC-Support can solve the operator`s problem by very easy and simple operation.

- Automatic Wire Feeding System (AWF)
We have used anneal dry method consistently since 1981. In recent years we developed functionality that allows annealing in a fixed position without rotating the rollers. One of the unique points about feeding is that we allow wire feeding in water so that operator does not need to clear out the water from the work tank when wire breaks. This reduces drastically the working time of operator. In addition, we allow the wire feed at wire break point. This also allows operator to not need to go back to original point to wire thread and go back to wire break point. Seibu`s unique functionality of wire feeding continues to develop more.
- Core stich
Core stich functions allows the process of cutting off the core by creating very narrow electrolytic bridge of brass at top of the part that allows removal of core by only tapping the core after all roughing operations have been completed. This helps to reduce the time of cutting a multiple core. We also offer a core stich conversion software that optimizes the welding point and distance by analyzing NC programs and automatically inserts the core stich codes into NC programs.
3. EL Coating
EL coating is a unique technology that prevents cobalt (Co) from dissolving in water by means of coating the cutting surface with brass. This increase the endurance of the mold. This makes it possible to cut in water which reduce maintenance work
