MEGA Tech received a special opportunity to interview Mr. Wittaya Ponpet, General Manager of W. P. P. Engineering Co., Ltd. decided to join INTERMACH 2023 under the concept of ‘Unlock The Next Industrial Revolution’ or unlocking into the industrial revolution of the future world.

Mr. Wittaya stated “W.P.P. Engineering is a specialist in CNC grinding machine, which has high accuracy. The machine for purposes of manufacturing processes of cutting tools has been established in 2008, with the purpose of providing services in terms of technical aspects and presenting complete solutions in manufacturing processes to our customers. For instance, presenting products, customer service and supporting manufacture processes to maximize quality, developing knowledge and technical capabilities to increase personnel potential for the customers in the industry of cutting tools to enter the global market.”
In addition, W.P.P. Engineering has been established as a support to Walter EWAG in presenting technology for manufacturing cutting tools, which includes grinding machines, sparking laser (Eroding), and gauge machines. We also collaborate with Thai Cutting Tool Manufacturers Association (TCTM) and the academy to help personnel support cutting tool manufacturers and marketing.
‘Thai Cutting Tool Manufacturers Association’ (TCTM) raises the level and potential of personnel related to cutting tools in the Thai manufacturing industry.
Mr. Wittaya added regarding the training curriculum “We are the members of Thai Cutting Tool Manufacturers Association (TCTM), which was established from the union of people who are involved in metal cutting tools. We have important roles and responsibilities, which is to elevate and increase the potentials of personnel who are involved in cutting tools in the manufacturing industry of Thailand. This is to support the growing industries in the country and maximize the quality in time. Its establishment was from a group of cutting tool manufacturers in Thailand. In 2015, the name “Thai Cutting Tool Manufacturers Association” was established, where there were two categories of members of the association: ordinary members, who are direct manufacturers, and extraordinary members, who are involved in manufacturing processes. In the present, this association consists of more than 20 members; within the next following year, we plan to build a seminar training curriculum covering technology manufacturing cutting tools, cutting tools application, and industrial field curriculum (management of manufacturing cutting tools – collaborating with university). The targeted group of people who can participate would consist of the general public who are using cutting tools, employees working for companies manufacturing cutting tools, including university students, and those who passed the training course or joined the curriculum. These participants will receive a certificate after course completion.

“In year 2023, the COVID-19 situation would improve and soon return to normal conditions. The uncertainty of economic directions in the past 2 – 3 years has started to reduce; hence, investment is starting to return. In addition, in the past 2 -3 years, technology development of the industry has been continuous; in fact, it has been the trigger to accelerate research and development. As a result, we have decided to make our debut at the Intermach event, since we needed to present our new products that could meet the market demands in the industry. We opened new market segments and made public relations for our company to be more well known. This event was the opportunity for us to present new technology to enhance the quality of manufactures, cost, and duration. It also increases capabilities in terms of competition for the customers to grow together.” Mr. Wittaya spoke with confidence.
The latest products have played a role in unlocking (unlocking), limitations or manufacturing capabilities in the metallurgical industry.
“We are welcome to present new models of machines, for instance, the Helitronic Raptor Diamond grinding machine model from WALTER, and other machines in the Intermach event under the concept “Unlocking industry” by applying the Industry 4.0 into the industry concretely in terms of service monitoring, remote service, and production monitoring. These elements will help in maintenance and production planning of all the manufacture systems.” Mr. Wittaya concluded with a warm smile.
