Structural steel tube—in this particular case, ASTM A500-specified cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing in round, square, and rectangular shapes—is used in a variety of applications because of its uniform and tight tolerances, high strength-to-weight ratio, and general ease of fabrication.
