Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and TBTS (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have recently organized HEXAGON Automotive Solution 2020 at HEXAGON CALIBRATION CENTER on Bang Na-Trat Road on 29 January 2020 attended by many interested visitors.
The event comprised a product lecture-demonstration and started with a seminar on Where the future goes, Industrial Revolution 4.0 by Mr. Werner Bosemann, Managing Director Product Line Manager AICON, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, followed by Turnkey Automation with AICON Scanner-Partinspect L by Mr. Jonathan Kwon, AICON Product Line Manager, APAC Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.
Other seminar topics were Key Technologies and Features of Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 with Reflector and T-Probe, T-Scan jointly provided by Mr. Thomas Schmid, APAC Regional Product Line Manager Laser Tracker and Absolute Arm, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and Mr. Prem Peetz, Sales Manager of PCMM, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and Real Time Feedback Application by Laser Tracker AT960 by Mr. Ekachai Sripanyanuch, Managing Director of TBTS (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The afternoon session was highlighted by a demonstration of Live Demo with Partinspect L & Leica Tracker AT960 + T-Scan5 Automation, ATS600 by various experts.

Mr. Ekachai said that the event jointly held by the two companies is emphasized on Industrial Revolution 4.0. As TBTS is a partner that specifically presents HEXAGON products and automation solutions, the companies come up with an idea to mutually present innovations and know-how associated with measuring tool trends and technologies. Most visitors are the companies’ customers who currently use Leica and other products of HEXAGON.
“TBTS research showed that if the target workpiece is repeatedly measured for more than 3 times, application of robots will provide more worthwhile outcome because it reduces workforce and human error. Also, the package program automatically provides operational reports that are useful for data analysis.”
Mr. Prem said that two new products presented at the event are AICON – Partinspect L and Leica Absolute Tracker AT960. AICON – Partinspect L manufactured in Germany was displayed for the first time at METALEX 2019. Its key features are quick parts scanning function and ability to work in collaboration with robots. Designed as a cabinet scanner, it allows users to easily control the functions through a built-in Interface. Users just place the target part inside the cabinet and enter the command and then the device will automatically start running.
The cell serves small to large parts weighing up to 2 tons and is suitable for mold and die industry or any industry requiring large parts examination. Another distinctive feature is that it can be easily installed in the work area and promptly set up for parts scanning in the production line.
Mr. Prem added that Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 is a laser scanner that is able to measure large parts with T-Scan 5 Automation on robotic setups. It allows users to promptly set up the system in the client’s production line. Key features of Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 are its portability and usability in any areas and remote scanning function as well as compatibility of any robot brands.
