Prolific Heating International Co., Ltd (PHI), a supplier of furnaces & its services, and Shanghai Jingyan Precision Tools Co., Ltd (JS Tooling), which specializes in cutting tools, have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to provide superior tooling solutions and transform Thailand into a high-tech manufacturing hub, especially in electric vehicle (EV) production, through their collaboration, Prolific JS Tooling Co., Ltd.

The MoU establishes a partnership wherein PHI leverages its partner’s research and development (R&D) capabilities and manufacturing expertise, while JS Tooling benefits from Prolific’s local market insights and customer connections. Together, they created ‘Prolific JS Tooling’ to secure a foothold in the Thai market, prioritizing the development of long-lasting customer relationships. “We provide on-site technical support, consultations on tool performance, and tailored solutions aimed at minimizing downtime and maximizing tool longevity. As Chinese electric vehicle (EV) production has surged over the past two decades, JS Tooling has experienced substantial growth in sales and expertise, especially in CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) and PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) technologies. “In 2011, we broadened our capabilities by creating specialized tooling in-house, including CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) and PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) inserts for hard turning. The Iken CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) inserts are particularly effective in hard-turning applications. Additionally, the company has created interchangeable drills and high-performance reamers that rival European competitors, with plans for a launch in Thailand.

Furthermore, the company provides turnkey solutions and post-sale support. In China, it has successfully overseen tool inventory for clients and delivered on-site application assistance. The company intends to replicate this success in Thailand. To facilitate this, they are currently hiring Thai sales engineers and establishing local dealerships to enhance its service network.
